Aer Lingus App Reviews

A good start, needs some checking

The app is a good start to booking and searching. However, on ipad, it only has portrait mode, and the process of searching for flights is a it flawed. You cannot search for business flights, for example, and even if you select a depart and return date, when you search for flights, what comes up is confusing. There are options for outbound and inbound... Both under the depart tab. Selecting return, gives a date way into the future and no flights.

Great app

It gives good schedule for plane leave on all days.

Double data entry, bad nav

After entering my data to view my booking, there was no path to checkin, without having to key in everything again.

Poor experience

App not correctly sized for iPad. After I hit "Continue" to purchase ticket the app froze. Not sure if my ticket was purchased or not!

Great App

When my flight from Dublin to Atlanta on Delta was cancelled due to Delta changing pet regulations out of Ireland. I had to scramble fast to find a flight and the the Aer Lingus app saved me a lot of stress. Not to mention the flight was the best in terms of comfort and customer service and cheaper than Delta.

No good

I just downloaded the app and it says I have connection issues( which I dont) ...try again. Also wont let me select regional departure airports in the US, I have to work from a prescribed list. Very disappointed, I really wanted to fly my national airline home next year with my family.

Primitive

How is this a new app?! Its stone-age. No mobile boarding pass? No ability to access your gold circle account?! For some reason I cant even check in online from JFK. This is what happens when things are state-owned. Ridiculous.

What a heap of junk!

This is just a series of web views wrapped in a lame so-called app! There’s a page on Aer Lingus’s web site (dated 2012) that says, "Aer Lingus plan to launch a passbook app in the near future.” Well, it’s now 2014 and there’s still no support for Passbook. This app is a waste of everyone’s time. Ignore it

One of the worst airline app out in the market. The layout is good but you just cant check in on your mobile if your travel starts from abroad (Amsterdam to be specific) This is the first review I write. I usually dont spend the time on it, but my experience was so bad that I rather let other users know. With all the good apps out there, how difficult is to get thus one right???? VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! G

Mr

Cant get this app to work. I keep getting "an exception was thrown during this process" - what does that mean? I am also having trouble with the website. Aer Lingus - hope your planes fly better than your app and website. You need some major IT help.

By far the worst airline app I have used to date

This is by far the worst airline app that I have used so far. It is Ill thought out and just doesnt do the things that a traveller would want. When Im traveling I want all the details on my phone, but I have to re-enter the booking reference every time! Come on Aer Lingus, take a look at the BA app which serves the traveller really well. Im removing this app until it improves

Where are the seats?

I dont understand airline apps that dont allow you to see and book seats. Im not purchasing a flight without seeing that first. No way am I flying overseas in a middle seat so its important to be able to select a flight after looking at seating availability.

Another junk app

I would rather have the other version, at least I could book my flights. Whats happening here..? Impossible to change dates right in the beginning so after about twenty minutes of wrestling with it I deleted it. Thanks

Atrocious

Not having an app at all would be preferable to this.

Awful

When you use an airline app it should be able to provide you with necessary information without having to enter booking, email, etc. The app says my booking is not valid despite looking at it on my ticket.

Just embarrassing that this is the face of Irelands flag carrier in the iOS world

Im a Prestige member of Aer Linguss Gold Circle club but I dont expect that to carry any weight in their reception of this review (it doesnt seem to in any other interaction with them). If youve used their atrocious website then this app will be reassuringly familiar in its godawfulness. Looking for your booking details? No problem - as long as you dont mind entering your reference number and email address EVERY BLOODY TIME. No facility to add your login details and have it actually remember you, much less push useful information to you. Imagine a banking app where you had to enter your routing and account numbers every time you wanted to check your balance; thats the calibre of user experience you can expect from this piece of junk. Dont even think about any integration with Passbook or any other common sense functionality. Just a horrible, horrible piece of software.

Hoped for a good, would have settled for usable

This app doesnt do anything for the lack of "passbook" (the apple app) integration in aer lingus flights. You may enter details to check a booking, flight status, etc - BUT - you must enter booking, flight, etc. details EACH AND EVERY TIME. There is no saving of your booking nor history for bookings or flights checked. There is no integration between the various capabilities of the app. The user experience of the app is very poor. The feeling one gets is of a (bad) wrapper app around discrete bits of functionality (equally bad).

Joke of an app and web support

Useless app. If you check in and then try to change your seat wont give an option to change your check in option. Boarding pass as a txt message not even reliable option. Cheap and worthless just like Ryanair

Nonfunctional

Spins and spins. Deleted.

Just bad.

Interface is basic at best. Has very little functionality. Would give 5 negative stars if that was a thing. Just read other reviews and you see the same story all the way back to 2011 saying the same things. And like most of those stories… deleted
